My Dad told me about Lanty Slee when I was a kid, It has been a hobby ever since to look for his forgotten treasure. However this time we found a clue and went looking for Lanty’s lost Cave.

Filmed in the English Lake District, This is an attempt to preserve the legend of a Smuggler who lived in the 1800s. Lancelot Slee of Little Langdale, a farmer, and quarryman in all the records books, but by night he was elusive Robin Hood-style Rogue, who hid high in the mountains to distill his Bogwater Moonshine.

I have been researching his legend, finding the places he lived and worked and retracing the footsteps he took across the Lake District. This is the first in a series of Mini documentaries about his adventures.

I have found many other forgotten gems of the Lake district during this research project and intend to immortalize these legends too in later programs.
